Cher's vocals was like fatnirg to beat. How old are you BTW?. I can say this I have been a life long fan and NO one is going to tell me Im not. Cher fan's sometimes have to pull for someone who isn't always on top, BUT to a true Cher fan she is ALWAYS on top no matter what, We come here to enjoy Cher and all that is her. I am just happy to hear something new from Cher. I do think the sound qutilay of both these songs sound like a demo version like she is singing them for the first time and before they are mixed. Very weak instrumentals. She sounds great. Diane Warren is not currently hip and what ever Cher sings from Diane are going to sound dated anyways. Whoever is working for PINK has the formula down. Cher needs to work with her producers cause Pink sings Rock songs that are awesome. Who the hell sings Power Ballads anymore. I cant think of any current hit that is a power ballad. They are so 80 sVA:F [1.9.22_1171]please wait...VA:F [1.9.22_1171](from 0 votes)

- November 13, 2012 8:48 PMTypes Of Warehouses More than 70% of their clients have been with them for more than five years, mankig their clientele very loyal. Brokers are welcome with a 6% commission, and they offer to beat any deal based on the same conditions. If you can find a better price with the same area and square footage, they will offer a better deal. For additional information, click warehouse rental in Miami FL or call (305) 557-0165 and ask for Michael Perez. He can provide a free consutation. Aldi Developers is conveniently located at 8001 West 26th Avenue, Suite 1, Hialeah, Florida 33016. A warehouse rental with Aldi Developers means your first month is included! Many businessmen overlook the things a warehouse space can offer. Most think that the spaces are full of dirt, not secure, not well-maintained and without proper lighting. What they do not know is that warehouse spaces today are climate controlled and nicely finished off. The cost of the warehouse building is half the price of the traditional office space. Businessmen can save money when they rent Holbrook warehouse space. While there business is thriving to succeed, they can gain more profits and generate more sales through using a warehouse space rather than renting or purchasing a new commercial office.

The lighting is long ersxpuoe, in the dark, with at f22, ISO 100. I played with several lengths of time and I can't remember exactly but probably around 25" - 30". I used a tripod and a timer to avoid camera shake. I may have even done some light painting on that one. I took a flashlight and painted light on the figures I wanted to stand out. You don't have to shine the light on the figures the entire time- paint like you would with a brush. This is all new to me so I'm not an expert. I saw a photo with the radiant lights and I wanted to try one. You have some beautifully lit decorations to try it on. Oh, and because it was pretty dark I had to shine a flashlight on the area I wished to focus on. I think you could manually focus the camera and then turn the lights off. I'm an amateur so you probably know more about this than I do:-). Happy shooting!!

I did the test as a lark. I was pregnant at the time, or else I plboabry would have done it just to work. Jessica Lange got the part1976 A Star is Born Cher was attached to star before Jon Peters and Barbra Streisand took over. replaced by Barbra Streisand1979 The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh Cher was originally cast as Mona Mondieu , but she backed out at the last minute because she was unable to fit the shooting into her schedule. replaced by Stockard Channing1983 Going to the Chapel Cher was supposed to star in the movie to Paramount Pictures during the summer of 1983, until she reportedly nixed so many prospective directors that she and the studio came to a parting of the ways. Film never made1983 Road Show Cher was supposed to have been Jack Nicholson's leading lady in the movie, until Nicholson objected to her casting. Film never made1984 Grandview, U.S.A. Cher was offered the role of Michelle Mike' Cody but she turned down the role in favor of the film Mask. She turned down the role because producers wouldn't cast Eric Stolz as her co-star. About the role she said I won't do anything for just money, only if I can bring something to it. replaced by Jamie Lee Curtis1984 Crimes of Passion Cher was reportedly considered for the dual role of Joanna Crane , aka the hooker China Blue in Ken Russell's romantic thriller. Kathleen Turner got the part1986 Fatal Beauty During the first controversial interview with David Letterman, Cher confirmed that was working for two films, Suspect and Fatal Beauty, but backed out of the latter. replaced by Whoopi Goldberg1987 Baby Boom Cher turned down the female lead in the film Baby Boom. Cher said also that Diane Keaton was much better for the role. replaced by Diane Keaton1987 Black Widow Cher was reportedly considered for the lead role, but was later turned down. In an interview she said, For me, it's about life experiences. Making films and growth in life is real intertwined. replaced by Theresa Russell1988 Midnight Run Production executives suggested that the Mardukas character be changed to a woman and wanted Cher for the role in the hope she would provide some sexual overtones . But Cher said that I have to find a character to express who I am and that's not easy. Charles Grodin got the part1989 Riding in Cars with Boys When the rights were purchased in 1989 by James L. Brooks, Debra Winger and Cher were considered for the lead. replaced by Drew Barrymore1989 The Witches Cher was considered for the role of the Grand High Witch in a movie adaptation of Roald Dahl's novel The Witches, but the role was eventually given to Anjelica Huston. Anjelica Houston got the part1990 The War of the Roses Cher was originally offered the role that eventually went to Kathleen Turner. Cher did not accept the role for personal reasons: I knew that was going to be a hit. A great script but kinda mean. I'd lived it for real. I didn't want to do it for money. Kathleen Turner got the part1990 She-Devil After winning the Oscar, she spent three years choosing her next film and She-Devil was the one she most wanted. Meryl Streep got the part1990 Working Girl Cher was considered for the role of Tess McGill . She also said, I act really great but I don't think of myself as an actress. I don't do it for a living. Melanie Griffith got the part1990 The Grifters For the role of Lilly, Cher was originally considered but she became too expensive after the success of Moonstruck for UK director Stephen Frears and his producer Martin Scorsese. Anjelica Houston got the part1991 Thelma & Louise Cher was offered for the role of Thelma Yvonne Dickinson , but turned it down. In an interview Cher also said It was a much rougher when I got it. It plboabry would've been a good movie to do. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I'm glad Susan did it. Geena Davis got the part1991 The Addams Family Cher was considered for the role of Morticia Addams . Anjelica Houston got the part1992 Batman Returns Cher was in competition with many other actresses for the role of Catwoman . Michelle Pfeiffer got the part1992 Leaving Normal Backed away from director Edward Zwick's second feature (a kind of Thelma & Louise revisited) as the waitress was a cousin of her role in Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. Besides, she was busy with her Aquasentials Skin Care infomercials. Christine Lahti got the part1992 This Is My Life Fox wanted the Jewish housewife struggling to be a stand-up comic to be Cher, Bette Midler or Michelle Pfeiffer. Julie Kavner got the part1993 Title unknown In 1993, Cher and Michelle Pfeiffer had a movie in development, a black comedy about a movie star and a tabloid reporter, but the movie never appeared. Project abandoned1994 Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles Due to the Hollywood's homophobia of the time, Anne Rice rewrote the part of Louis, changing his sex to female, in order specifically to heterosexualyze his/her reletioship with Lestat. At the time, Rice felt it was the only way to get the film made, and Cher was considered for the part. Brad Pitt got the part1995 The Bridges of Madison County Cher was considered for the role of Francesca Johnson . Meryl Streep got the part1996 Evita Cher was proposed to play Eva Peron in the musical. Madonna got the part1996 Freaky Deaky In early 1996 Barry Cooper with Monte Hellman made a deal with the Japanese company Shochiku. Part of the deal was that Quentin Tarantino and Lawrence Bender would be executive producers of the pictures that Hellman would direct. One of the film was Freaky Deaky, an adaption of the Elmore Leonard's 1988 novel. The cast for the movie included Vince Vaughn (as Chris), Cher (as Robin) and Mickey Rourke (as Skip), but due to conflicts the company and the producers team the movie never appeared. So in my vast experience as a mairred individual wait a minute. Nevermind. I'm still living in the then . Don't listen to me, but my advice is every day you have to choose your attitude. Choose to love your spouse before your feet touch the floor. Choose to never give up. On days you are close to breaking, choose to make it one more day. Most importantly though? Listen to the other people posting who actually have experience and ignore the young buck that I am (6 months mairred).

Lorena Thu 16 Jan 2014 18:01
It's not only ok, but necessary to ask for help as a cuploe, when you have marital problems. And the help needs to come from older, wiser, Christian cuploes in successful marriages. My husband and I have taken in-depth marriage enrichment classes, whether we needed them or not, and have committed to each other that we will be open to marriage counseling should we ever feel the need. But now our friends are starting to divorce, and they are admitting that if they ever sought help at all as a cuploe, they sought it only after spending years trying to solve the problems quietly, by themselves and it is simply too late in their opinion to fix things. So the lesson is . . . don't keep problems a secret! Determine early in your marriage that you will not be too proud to seek Godly counsel and lean on your Christian family when you have marital struggles . . . because everyone WILL have some.

Meadow Thu 16 Jan 2014 17:50
, you CAN change yoslreuf. Like the famous quote, Be the change you want to see in the world. Be the change you want to see in your marriage. Two, I wish we had known our love languages (Gary Chapman), many times couples are expressing love to one another in different ways and neither one is feeling the love at all because they speak different love languages! I thinks that's why you so often hear people say, I don't know what happened, we just fell out of love. Three, make divorce a non-option. Don't ever threaten it in a fight, don't ever say it jokingly, take if off the table from day one. Four, children are the worst thing that ever happened to my marriage! Of course that's a little tongue in cheek, but I wish I would have known how a great couple relationship can go south fast when you add the stress of children and trying to decide on a unified parenting style. Lastly, I agree with Andrew the young married buck You must CHOOSE each day to love your spouse. You won't always want to, and it will not always be easy, but choose to dwell on their positive qualities and if you can't think of any that day, choose to love them anyway!

The video by Jan Hargrave is indeed an exelelcnt example of the fallacy that body language' can be interpreted in such a way that it tells us something' about someone. There is no scientific validity to the interpretation of non-verbal behaviour. It is and can only be the projection of the observer's subjective view of the world onto the person being observed. While there may be claims for scientific validity there are always other studies that contradict those claims, simply because there can be no consistency to the meaning' of a particular physical stance or movement or posture or, in Jan's video hand position'. She is simply projecting a subjective symbolic interpretation on a body movement, just as dream interpreters project possible symbolisms onto the features of a dream, tea-leaf readers project symbolism onto the position of tea leaves in an upturned saucer. In all cases the interpreter creates the meaning, it is not present before the creation and so is not factual. Aldert Vrij wrote an exelelcnt review into whether we can tell if someone is lying or telling the truth called Detecting Lies and Deceit'. In the book he reviews a range of studies of the use of non-verbal behaviour in the detection of lies the conclusions are inconclusive many studies contradict other's findings and he notes with concern that some Police officers and others dealing with sensitive situations claim to be able to tell when someone is lying' from interpreting body language. The research proves otherwise that there are not consistent non-verbal behaviours shown by people who lie ..or by those who tell the truth. To assign such credibility to this non-science that it is used in the selection of jurors is staggering not least because of its subjectivity but because of the gullability of the legal professionals who commission it.

4%(guaranteed)plus 1% (up to $40K of SMRA only) is only for the first two years 2008 & 2009. After that the 4% changes to long term bond rate which may be less or more but it will be miimnum 2.5% as mandated in the CPF Act. Hope that it will be more. If it is less than 4%, those with more than $40K in SMRA will be worse off than now. Can anyone advise or correct if I'm wrong?

Teaching and Education tool - This is part of an article that was the news today March 28, 2012. about an aumngert that resulted in a shooting. apparently in the early morning hours. It was not in our neighborhood, but about 11/2 miles south of us in the Highland Park neighborhood, not very far from Highland Park Elementary School. Highland Park is in OKC and it does have a neighborhood watch. The "suspicious activity" had apparently been on going for several months. Neighbors told (the reporter) they heard screams coming from the area of a house around midnight. They say they also heard gunfire. Neighbors say the people who live in the home just moved in about nine months ago. They say there is a lot of traffic going in and out of the home. If this was a situation you happened to notice in your neighborhood, what action could you have taken that might have made a difference? You might have called the non-emergency number at the police department to register your concern about 'a lot of traffic going in and out of the home. You could have told one of your neighborhood watch officers or patrollers, in person or by phone or email, about the 'unusual' activity and they would have advised our PD or our Community Policing Officer about the situation. Our contact info is on this website and in our Newsletter. You could have filled out a Citizen Incident Report form ( which you can find and download on this website), or stop a patroller and ask them for a report form, then filled it out and taken it to the police department. If you were at our monthly neighborhood meeting last night (Tuesday, March 27, 2012) you may have even had the opportunity to report this 'suspicious situation' directly to our Del City Community Policing Officer in person and in the process gotten to know him and learn a bit about what his duties are and some of his past experience with the Del City Police Department. Some of you already do this. People frequently stop me as I drive through the neighborhood, or call and email me and even stop by my house to let me know about something they notice that might become problematic or need attention. Has to be 5 minute break between.Big Mac ChallengeEat a big mac, complete a 5 mile run within 1 hour of finishing the big mac. If you puke during the run, it doesn't count.

Fumari Hookah: This lounge is poupalr for its exclusive tobacco blend. This unique blend is manufactured in Jordan. A 100g bag of this tobacco sells at $9 on average. Many visitors of this gas lamp area in San Diego praise it for its unique flavor. This San Diego hookah bar is nestled at the corner of a street offering a good spot for people wishing to smoke due to its good atmosphere. The crowd around this area is also friendly.

No spice? Well, there goes my shot at doing well this year I started off the 2011 ciaapmgn with a better than expected half marathon- 1:20:04 at the Manhattan half on Jan 22. It's a decently hilly course which takes you through two laps of the park (the last half lap is spent weaving between the 13 minute milers who think they should take up the whole road), so I'm happy with the time, especially on 2 weeks of training.

This neighborhood will only iorvmpe through owner occupied homes or at very least landlords who are visible and maintain their properties and evict tenants conducting illegal activities. The drug dealers also need to be forced out of the community. Until those things happen property values will continue to decline and good citizens will continue to move out. I personally am planning to move out within the year.

Thanks for your comments. A comitnmuy improves because neighbors care and when neighbors care real change happens, regardless if they own or rent (I am a renter and officer of BWNA). Based on the turn out at our meetings and events, this comitnmuy cares. As long as that's the case we will never give up on making improvements here! It can not happen over-night but we can not wait for others to create the change we want to see here. We hope you will come to our next meeting and invite you to participate in our upcoming events, we encourage everyone to participate in Alliance activities because our strength is in numbers and Birches West certainly has the numbers!

We loved to go to Oak Glen in the early fall to get apples to either pick or have them picked for you and there is a wonderful community for fliamy to shop, visit a zoo and to picnic up there. Also during the summer months there is wonderful outdoor theater in Redlands which is free to everyone. I could also go on and tell you a lot more, but exploring where to go together is so much fun.

Great place for beer, this Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden. I had the Kielbasa with dumplings and the pottao pancakes. Dear Pirouz 2.0, Well thank you for confirming the point I made erliaer. It is my pleasure. Well thank you once again for confirming my point, we can see the generous โhumanitarianโ donations of lockheed martin, McDonnell Douglas and Dassault Aviation raining down on Libya. You are making a different point here. I spoke about the principles of humanitarian intervention, where as you seem to have a problem with the arms industry. Explain to me why you are fine with Gaddafi's weapons raining down on the Libyan people. quite contrary to you who think the British system is a โwell oiled and well lubricatedโ democracy. Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but it is. If you could be so kind as to spend some of your valuable time explaining why it is not, I would be eternally thankful. But if you are too busy reading something else, then I totally understand, and apologise in advance for making such a wild request. Based on your version of pseudohistory You have to put aside your inferiority complex for one minute, and take into account the dire state that Iran was in in the late 19th/early 20th century. Iran sorry, Persia did not have a strong centralised government, its military could not protect its borders, its lazy, uninterested monarchy had sold off practically every single corner of the country to foreign powers, and it had an uneducated, disease-infested population. Reza Shah managed to put some order to the country, although not enough, as Iran was effectively invaded a few years later. The men you mention were victims of circumstance, and unfortunately Iran has a bloody history of assassinating its roshan-fekrs, or sending them into exile. This is not a problem confined to one specific period of history, this is a continuous curse that holds Iran back from maturing politically.Anyway, my original post that we are referring to described a brief time-line of foreign interference in Iran. You have managed to pick out a single point I made, rather than the whole context. Clutching at straws does no justice. you on the other hand have only slandered me. Calling you a Marxist is not slander. Why is it that Marxists are so sensitive about being called out for what they are? Otherwise, I did not slander you at all. By the way, who do you think you are to ask people for their CV before your majesty would allow them to express their opinion? And where is your CV anyway, Mr.-demand-is-infinite-in-a-capitalist-society? I am fully entitled to ask whatever I want, and people are fully entitled to answer/not answer. When people are bamboozled into saying that they are too busy to reply to something, and need to catch up on their reading instead, then they are fully entitled to do so. That is an answer in itself to be honest, but not a very convincing one. And there are many Americans here who make sweeping, neo-orientalist statements about the Middle East, even though they have practically no experience/knowledge of the region. I like to point them out.By the way, the infinite demand/finite supply problem is essentially the what is the meaning of life? question, but for capitalist economics. It cannot get any more fundamental, and as a result I wonder if you have actually studied economics. I have tried putting it into different contexts to help you understand, but to no avail as of yet. Let me try replacing the word infinite with perpetual, and see how that works with you. LOLโฆplease Pakโฆ.you are not in a position to insult anyoneโs intelligence on this site. I know, that is why I specifically said that I will avoid insulting your intelligence. Here is some advice to you: stop getting so aggressive. This is a virtual discussion, so throwing binary punches at me only makes you look frustrated, and I hate to wonder why you are frustrated.
Abraham Thu 16 Jan 2014 11:33
Arnold,Thanks for posting your presopod comment to Juan Cole. Who knows, but I suspect he'll find it outside his narrow band of acceptable criticism which means that we'll have to come here to read truly useful criticism of his essays.Dr. Cole posted a guest essay from David Westbrook, a law professor. His essential point was that the US should stop pretending it's not at war in Libya and that, acknowledging that, is morally obliged to decide whether it's going to prosecute that war vigorously boots on the ground and all or pull out entirely. I suspect that Mr. Westbrook favors the former: he came close, it seemed to me, to arguing that once a country acknowledges it's at war, it really has only one choice full steam ahead not two. I nevertheless acknowledged in the comment set forth below, which I doubt will get past Dr. Cole's censorship that it's both unfair and irrelevant to speculate on Mr. Westbrook's personal views. I expressed mine instead: the US has not made any irrevocable decision; it makes a new moral decision each day, and the proper decision tomorrow should be to leave.PROPOSED COMMENT:David Westbrook writes:This at the beginning: Let me suggest a rule of thumb: we should not undertake the moral burden of killing when we are unwilling to undertake the existential risk of dying. And much the same at the end: Hence my rule of thumb: if we are serious, we should be willing to put troops on the ground and fight. Two comments:1. Good for Mr. Westbrook for pointing this out. I've been more than a little perplexed at all those who've argued the US should jump into this war for humanitarian reasons, only to insist in the next breath that we should draw a clear line at boots on the ground. Why? If we conclude it's our moral duty to intervene, why should we NOT put boots on the ground? Mr. Westbrook makes the same point.2. Mr. Westbrook leaves unclear whether he thinks the US ought to get more involved or not. This may well reflect humility: He is merely explaining that the US must acknowledge that it is at war and, therefore, decide whether it is going to do it right โ i.e. put boots on the ground โ or pull out.Though it may be unfair to Mr. Westbrook to speculate on his personal views โ and, he might properly argue, irrelevant in any case โ I see hints in his writing here that he believes the US has already made an irrevocable decision to enter this war and thus has only one real choice: stay the course, and expand the US' involvement if necessary โ that to not do so would be irresponsible. If that is what Mr. Westbrook believes (and if he does not, my apology to him: let my finger point instead at those readers who do believe that; I have no doubt there are some), I disagree. It does not necessarily follow from a country's admission that it is at war that the country is morally obliged to stay in that war, much less to expand its involvement. In some wars, that is true; in other wars, it is not. If the US' entry into this war had somehow exposed one side or the other to greater risk than if the US had not entered the war (such as when we encouraged Iraqi Shiites to undertake a rebellion in 1991 that they probably would not have undertaken absent our encouragement), arguably we'd have a moral duty to stand by whichever side we'd exposed to more risk by entering the war.But I don't believe that happened this time. If the US just pulled out right now, I doubt the rebels would be in any worse a position than they'd have been in if the US had never intervened in the first place. Indeed, they probably would be better off, since Gaddafi would think twice before carrying out any massacre, knowing full well that the US is still keeping a careful eye on things and had already intervened once without any massacre even having occurred. In short, the US has not made an irrevocable decision that it must now make the best of. Instead, it's faced with a new decision each day: Should it stay or should it go?I'll be less circumspect than Mr. Westbrook in answering that question: It should go.

Currently, I have to navigate through a variety of pages to get to a science page, math page, language arts page, religion/social studies for 6th, 7th & 8th grade. Honestly, I don't have time to go on a scavenger hunt for this information only to be brought back to the original page, which told me nothing. I am very frustrated with the format.

In answer to your qitueson, as people start talking about the worst being over for the recession, I think this will lead to a slight uptick in attendance and a few more interested buyers, however not too many more, if any actual sales. I say this as a Yacht is a large purchase, and there is only talk of the recession ending, so I think people will be a little cautious still, and instead go out and shop in case we really have hit the bottom.

Very close to the Moscow one.

Latest soil temps for the RRV show only a small below-freezing layer from 50cm - 100cm. It's sitting at arnuod -0.7 C and warming by the day. Soil temps above and below are as high as 4-5 C. If we get more snow, we'll have a hard time keeping it as the ground is abnormally warm for this time of year!

It does not reach towards a archetype personality or ideal that blends both competence and dominance. Albeit rare, this type of individual leader does exist and would be worthy of mention within the context of social psychology and the scope of the work being embodied.

Ok, so all of the pictures are great! I'm so tkhuafnl for ya'll capturing so many sweet moments. I'll have to say though, I like the picture of Craig's face when he first sees me coming down the aisle. It's really sweet. There's actually another picture right after that one on the website and all the guys turn towards Craig to see his reaction, funny Thank you

These pictures are gouegors and I'm not just being biased, because this is my beautiful sister. You all did a great job, were very professional, and captured some really creative shots. I love them all, but a few of my favorites were the ones where Rebecca and Craig met before the wedding and snuck in a quick, sweet moment, before the ceremony. Those are adorable! Thanks again for helping make their day complete!

Mark.. Saturday looks like we'll start off mild, then a sharp cold front will pass through in the monnirg, and our temperatures will drop dramatically during the day reaching single digits by afternoon. Take a look at the 48hr graph of RGEM temperatures for Winnipeg (under the forecast icon) RGEM has Winnipeg at 15C at 9 am Saturday falling to 6C by noon as those NW winds kick in, then +1C by 6 pm. Based on current model trends, I would say that sunny and 18C is not likely for Winnipeg Saturday.
Jhoni Thu 16 Jan 2014 5:44
Thanks Brad..In spite of the low level clouds, that depeer moisture and rain associated with trowal of the central plains low (showed up nicely on the 700 hPa dewpoints and theta-e), never did quite make it into Manitoba. With front coming thru by mid-morning to midday.. question then becomes how cold it will get Saturday nad Sunday nites. Arctic high starts nosing in early Sunday morning, but a bit of cold advection and a gradient at 925 may keep some mixing going. The other wild card appears to be mid and high level clouds, that will stream east over-top the ridge. The lower, thicker clouds will be down in N Dakota however. With 850 hPa temps at -5 to -7 C, will have to see how cold the calm, clear areas (off to our NW most likely) can get - with a lot of ground heat and moisture flux likely.High lingers on Sunday nite as well, but by dawn mid-level clouds start moving up from the SW. Temperatures will tank early and then stabilize, depending on the timing of the clouds.LLJ gets cranking overnite Monday, with showers moving up from the south. Cold air starts wrapping in by Tuesday afternoon heralding a possible change over to slushy snow :(Daniel

Just a note: Someone here mentioned the hihegst temperature ever in Canada in March. Jeff Masters also referenced that in his latest post.He notes that Chris Burt notes my hometown of Port Alberni, BC (Beaver Creek station) has that record, at 31.1C on March 29, 1926.However, I looked at the EC data from that time and I think the Beaver Creek staiton was overestimating the temperature by quite a bit.On March 29, 1926:Beaver Creek measured 31.1CCity of Port Alberni measured 23.1C The stations would have been only a few miles apart, Beaver Creek deeper in the Valley and Port Alberni in the City proper next to the Inlet. I don't generally see temperature differences of more than 2 or 3 degrees in the height of summer between my station (in the City) and the current official station at the Airport (in the Valley closer to where the Beaver Creek station would have been). So I find it hard to believe that the difference would have been almost 8 degrees. There is a chance, as it may have been foggy in town for longer, where as Beaver Creek may not have been foggy at all. But again, I'd be surprised.I looked at Lake Cowichan which is in the Cowichan Valley further south on the Island that usually gets similar temperatures, and it was only 21C. Similarly, Chilliwack, in the Fraser Valley on the mainland only go to 20C on that day. All this to say... we're witnessing an incredible event!

Complex forecast for the next week. Baroclinic zone just south of the intl boerdr, will sharpen up and waffle north and south thru the weekend. Front pushes north tonite with weak LLJ of 30 kts, but deeper moisture will still be off to our south. There may be a few mid-level clouds (especially thru the interlake) before they lift out. Eventually, moisture and clouds coming up from a cut-off low over the central plains will have a tendency to back in from the southeast. At the same time, a disturbance in the SW flow will try to push drier air (especially above 850 hPa) east and shove the moisture and clouds into Ontario and Minnesota. Given the tug of war between the two systems, cloud trends (especially low clouds at 925 hPa and below) will be hard to pin-point for Friday. The exact frontal position and timing of its passage also adds uncertainty, as area of sharp temperature gradient starts slumping south late in the day. Cold advection at the surface continues thru the day Saturday, but by overnite into Sunday morning, warm advection aloft and weak LLJ may give us a shot at some elevated showers. Blocking pattern then begins breaking down as cut-off low is forecast to slide east. That allows upper ridge to build over the western plains and re-inforces cool surface high pressure down into S Manitoba. High pressure quickly shifts east and sets the stage for moisture return - ahead of what could be a potent low pressure system tracking NE up thru N Dakota and Minnesota. We may be affected by the deformation zone and/or trowal wrapping around the system. Enough cold air looks to work in for a change over to slushy snow on the backside.. Daniel

While it would be very hard to show that someone that viseitd the site actually moved to Edmonton because of the site, there are ways to show success using the analytics tools that the site currently uses. Visits, stories on the site and percentages of visitors from outside Edmonton do not indicate success.
Diego Thu 16 Jan 2014 4:07
Hardly an argument lol! I hpapen to know of another GOA website with an 8million dollar price tag, which after 4 years they scrapped and rebuilt for another 1.2m. Or what about that campsite reservation system that was supposed to cost 125k and came in closer to 12M? lol. If you're going to try to use a comparable, GOA might not be your best bet lol.I work with content heavy websites with thousands of content pages and hundreds of content types. Budget doesn't shock me, web ppl are expensive!
Arija Thu 16 Jan 2014 3:34
3.5 million for a westbie about people who live or lived in Edmonton? And this helps Edmonton how? Why not spend that money improving the traffic enforcement situation so I don't have to say my prayers every time I drive on Edmonton's roads. Or put that money back into the city and reduce some of the overwhelming costs that business and homeowners are being crippled with. Edmontonians have all their taxes go up so the city can spend it on a westbie? And why the Hell would I EVER want to move to Edmonton?
Sabina Thu 16 Jan 2014 3:24
Holy smokes. $3.5 MILLION? Is the web delveoper using golden keyboards? What an incredible waste of taxpayer money. Without appropriate KPIs it appears like a big money pit that will forever suck cash out of the budget.Marketing the City isn't a bad thing but it's fair for taxpayers to demand value for money.I know of (because I own it) a website that generates similar traffic numbers, but actually generates revenue, and cost about $6,000 to build. I can tell you what my ROI is down to the day. Can the City?
Lucas Thu 16 Jan 2014 3:16
If I was thinking of moinvg to Edmonton, and I saw the kind of money wastage that was going on.. like 3.5 million for a promotional website barely anybody has seen I would go elsewhere. The city needs a lot done to it it has an infrastructure that can't keep up with the population, roads in such dire shape it takes a four by four to negotiate them, and even then the trips are bone jarring.. level crossings for trains, where you can enjoy CN/CP wasting between 5 and 15 minutes of your morning commute, and parking problems.. everywhere. Those problems alone would be well worth looking into, and 3.5 million would help. As it stands, due to all of the above, and that alberta advantage that I can't find anymore, I'm leaving.
Tri Thu 16 Jan 2014 3:14
We need to promote this city, but 3.5 moliiln dollars on a stale, boring web site full of nonsense, and half-truths. (The newly immigrated Philippine woman didn't notice the cold? Right.) is not the best use of these funds. It's not a bad idea: collect stories of people's love (or satisfaction) with this city and share them with the world on the internet. That's a great idea. But this site is passionless and safe and does nothing but scream We're Edmonton and we're not a terribly interesting place to do anything, but you should come work in our Tim Horton's because clearly we're very good at throwing money about! An alternative proposal:How many commissions from local film-makers, journalists, multi-media artists and writers, who love this city and want to share their feelings about it, would those 3.5 moliiln dollars have paid for? MANY! And they'd be vibrant and unique products with which to promote the city, AND they'd have the added benefit of supporting our local artistic communities.

I was scared to go to a deiogtmloarst any deiogtmloarst but a close friend recommended Dr.Levit. At first i was nervous about cost and what would be the final result if surgery was necessary, then again i couldn't bare to look in the mirror and see myself. I hated myself for the way i looked. At Dr.Levit office in Brooklyn i saw his book and decided to read to read it while i was waiting. What i've learnt is that some people feel the same way i do, some shared similar problems, while others was even worst than mine. I felt comfortable knowing that someone out-there is going through the same and that i am not alone and there is a deiogtmloarst who can help me to rid my problems.Dr.Levit listens to his patients, he cares about them, he offered good advise and best treatment with a really low cost.I was so shocked and amazed at the same time.I look great,i feel great,my self esteem is soaring and the end results is absolutely amazing and i dont have enough words to thank Dr.Levit on the wonderful job he did.

This story seems full of partial trhtus. I am also a social media/online marketing professional and I agree with your source's quote. However I did some digging and it appears edmontonstories has a Facebook page, twitter feed, you tube channel, all things I help my clients utilize. Did your source uncover those?600k for just a website does seem a little steep, but it appears a's though e stories is a full blown social marketing campaign, in which case the price tag seems less extreme. As for Gords comments, there is a huge gap between revenue generating websites where the main KPI is page views and conversions. Seems to me a site of this nature should be optimized around time on site and pages per visit. Although if they can figure out how to implement a move me to Edmonton checkout system, I'd love to see it in action lol!Roi in social marketing is always tricky. I say let the program run it's course then evaluate it, after all these types of strategies seem to be popping up everywhere, for once they City is ahead of the curve!

Hello, My name is Janine and I started reecirshang about homeschooling afew months ago.Since then I stumbled upon many resources. I would like to ask if you would answers a couple of questions about homeschooling? The answers or any insights i will be posting on my blog.I already sent the same inquiry to other moms who are nominated in the Top 25 homeschooling mom post in circle of mom including Debbi of thesimplemom.com/, Marci of homeschoolingscientist, Deb of lvingmontersorrinow.com, and others.. i am also glad that they replied back! It's ok if you can answer maybe a few of these.. thanks! In Your Experience, What are best benefits of homeschooling? What if a child wants to learn something a parent can't teach? Not knowledgable or not in the curriculum? Is homeschooling expensive in your case? How to know which materials and resources to use?Where can one get materials and resources? Is homeschooling a full time activity or can you do something else with your day? What about the social life of kids who learn at home? Are parents worried about that?Does homeschooling work for teenagers? Will there be any issues for homeschoolers to get into college? What can i tell those skeptic people that homeschooling is not the way to go in educating a child?Looking forward to your reply.Janine / Jake

Hi HBO, Great preview vid!Now that the hkecoy season is almost over, can you please make the 24/7 winter classic Flyers v Rangers episodes available to watch in the Australian region. As an avid hkecoy fan, i dont๏ปฟ have access to Cable tv, to have watched the episodes when they originally aired. So your youtube channel is my only way to view the episodes.Cheers.
Nelly Wed 15 Jan 2014 23:40
You know why the Flyers are gonna win this winter clssiac.. because the Rangers will be more concerned about what to wear to the actually game than who wins it. Are these guys for real? I have to fast forward most of the NY๏ปฟ footage they're a joke I keep expecting them to start making out with eachother half the time. Avery sucks.

Here's the deal.My work schedule is set up a bit dffierent from the normal workweek. One weekend, I only get Saturday off, and the next weekend, I get Friday through Sunday off. I still work five-day workweeks, but it's structured that I'm on one weekend and off the next. I don't get more vacation than the average worker I just get my weekends in dffierently sized pieces. This past week, though, was real vacation, not stored-up weekends.
